Sítio Lenice is located in one of the Mantiqueira Mountain Range's subdivisions, the Serra da Pedra Branca, at an altitude of 1.300 meters. Its soil is very fertile and there is plenty of animal and vegetation biodiversity. Sítio Lenice has several springs with crystal clear water that is used to irrigate the plantations and in coffee processing, after the beans are harvested.

Coffee processing system

Coffee is picked selectively, i.e., only the ripe beans are picked. Right after the coffee beans are shaken on screens to remove the first impurities, they are transported to the washer. The washed coffee is sent directly to the pulper, and immediately after to the mucilage removers; subsequently, the beans are transported to the terrace to dry.

While the coffee is drying, it is turned every twenty minutes until it reaches storage point. Water used in the coffee process is reused, after passing through a decantation tank.

Concern with quality

Sítio Lenice is devoted to total quality. Coffee plantation is well managed and follows technical recommendations of an Agronomist, José Carlos de Oliveira, who visits the property on a daily basis.

The techniques employed always take into consideration the environment and the worker, and do not use pesticides. Soil analyses are performed from time to time, and usually, organic products are used for plant nutrition.
