The Wesley Isac Nóia Gomes' family comes from generations of tile producers in the region since the end of the 19th Century. Currently, with the same tradition, the Gomes family produces quality coffees in the Mountains of Espírito Santo.
The region fascinates for the beauty of Parque do Caparaó, where the third highest mountain of the country is located - Pico da Bandeira - and for its many water sources, waterfalls, rocky mountains and private reserves of the Atlantic Forest.
In addition to coffee plantation, the producer has together with his father, mother and sisters, a small roasting company (Café Teeiro), and works with agro-tourism, receiving visitors who are interested in learning about the daily production of the farm.
To prepare the farm's coffee, Wesley uses pulper, drier, covered terraces and other equipment of his father's farm - Mr. José Danivo Gomes - who also had a coffee lot classified among the finalists of the Cup of Excellence 2004.
Coffee processing system
Cherry coffee beans are picked and pulped on the same day. The beans are dried on a covered cemented terrace (hot house). Subsequently the beans are bagged in pergamino and stored in bins at the farm.
Concern with quality
Special care is exercised from coffee planting to storing. Other points worth mentioning are the hygiene in the hot house and the fact that the coffee beans are turned more than 20 times a day. The producer dedicates himself fulltime to the production of his coffees, and he believes that makes a difference.
