The property has been in the hands of the family for over 100 years. As it occurs with many others in the location, it was transferred by inheritance from one generation to the other, under the family agricultural system. Following the examples of his grandfather and his father, Benyosef Rosa Soares intends to encourage his children, for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, to continue the noble work that has been a common denominator to the family's generations: coffee production.

Coffee processing system

All coffee produced at Fazenda Senhor do Bonfim is processed by the pulped natural method using the humid system in which the picked bean lots are pulped on a daily basis. After the selective harvesting, beans are washed and separated into cherry, bóia, and green beans. Additionally, during this stage leaves, stones, and other impurities are also separated. Beans are dried in cemented terraces or in driers of the burareiro type and in hot houses.

Concern with quality

All processes performed during production are supported by COOCAMP - Cooperativa Agrícola dos Cafeicultores do Município de Piatã [Agricultural Cooperative of the Municipality of Piatã] and ASCAMP - Associação dos Cafeicultores do Município de Piatã [Coffee Producers' Association of the Municipality of Piatã].
