Fazenda Campo Alegre is located in the Municipality of Piatã - State of Bahia, in the Chapada Diamantina region, in one of the highest parts of this region, which can reach 1,400m altitude. In this region one can find rupestrian drawings, waterfalls and a huge variety of fauna and flora, which are characteristic of the location.

Fazenda Campo Alegre is operated under the family agriculture system, in which the properties and cultures are transmitted and taught from one generation to the other. This form of organization provides local society with the possibility of being self-sustained which brings with it a better quality of life.

Coffee processing system

The coffee produced at Fazenda Campo Alegre is processed according to the pulped natural method using the humid system, in which beans are pulped daily in two stages of picked lots. After the selective picking, the beans are washed, and separated into cherry, boia, green, and leaves, rocks and other impurities are discarded. The coffee is dried on cemented terraces or in driers of the burareiro type and in hot houses.
